Startup Atlas (“Atlas,” “we,” “us”) operates startupatlas.online, where founders can submit information about their startup and receive a free, AI-generated investment memo. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. This page is written in English and is the authoritative version.
Age requirement (18+)
Atlas is intended for adults only. You must be 18 years of age or older to submit a startup or otherwise use the submission features. The submission form requires you to affirmatively confirm that you meet this age requirement, and we re-check that confirmation on our servers before processing any submission.
Data from minors
Atlas is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If we learn (or have a good-faith belief) that a submission was made by a minor, we remove the associated submission and any personal information we hold for it. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact rob@cartooli.com and we will delete it.
What we collect
When you submit a startup, we collect:
- Founder details — your name and email address (the email is verified with a 6-digit code).
- Startup information — company name, headline, problem and solution descriptions, geography, stage, fundraising amount, valuation, website, and an optional pitch-deck PDF.
- Submission metadata — limited technical data such as IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention) and basic acquisition/referral parameters.
We do not collect payment information. Atlas is free and moves no money.
How submissions are handled
We use your submission to generate an investment memo, to email you when it is ready, and to power the optional public directory. Submissions may pass through a moderation step; low-quality or policy-violating submissions can be withheld from the public directory or removed. Visibility on the public directory is opt-in and gated on a minimum quality threshold.
Third parties we rely on
We share the minimum data necessary with infrastructure providers that operate on our behalf under their own terms and security controls:
- Anthropic — generates the investment memo from the text you submit.
- Vercel — application hosting and pitch-deck file storage.
- Neon — managed Postgres database where submissions are stored.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (verification codes and memo notifications).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
We retain submissions and generated memos for as long as needed to provide the service and maintain the directory, unless you ask us to delete them. You can request deletion of your submission and associated personal information at any time by emailing rob@cartooli.com.
Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
